wildlife conservation society jobs
what are the basic requirements needed for a job in The Wildlife Conservation Society?

as in do you need a degree in zoology etc………….

I worked for them seasonally doing a bird study up in the Arctic in Alaska. Yes, I have a degree in zoology, and you too would need a degree to obtain paid employment. I would suggest majoring in wildlife biology, wildlife management, biology, or zoology, or something similar. Hands on experience counts just as much as a degree..I suggest doing volunteer work and/or inthernships to gain skills in this field.

conservation volunteering scotland

conservation volunteering scotland
which is the best island in scotland to visit as a volunteer conservation warden.?

my main interests are birds, wildlife and plants (especially wild flowers) i am ok with isolation and can handle being cut of from the rest of the world. i have been to skomer island for 12 days and am looking to volunteer in scotland for at least a month.

Taransay is the main one that people visit, but it is mainly secluded because not many people go. The best thing to do would be to go through the Scottish Tourist Board (the website should be under their name if you type it in a search engine) and they can tell you what programmes they run.

conservation wildlife society
Though I love my pets, I also like reading about the unusual, what do you think?

This man never gave up, he finally found him! September 13, 2005—He had only a ghost of a chance, but after more than a decade of searching, a wildlife researcher has captured proof of a white giraffe. In this photo released September 6, the unusual beast and its companions stroll through a wilderness preserve in the African country of Tanzania.

Charles Foley of the Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS) first heard reports of the white giraffe in Tarangire National Park in 1993. For 12 years he kept an eye out for the living legend while conducting his daily business of studying the park’s savanna elephant populations.

“By 1994 the sightings stopped coming in, so I assumed it had died, either at the hand of man or beast,” Foley said in a WCS press release. “I never stopped looking though.”

Sorry, I can’t seem to link the photo. Like all other all white or albino animals, isn’t he magnificant? Look up his name for the pic.

Wow, that is amazing. It is too bad you weren’t able to send the picture but I can see why. Other people would submit some strange pictures here if it was possible. A white giraffe is probably rarer than a white tiger.
