library volunteer job description

What are good books for me to read to get familiar with coordinating events and volunteers for a non-profit?
I am a new Programs Coordinator for United Way. I am a part of Community Impact with a focus on Education through “Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library” and Volunteer Center- Civic Engagement. What are some resource books to help me develop my skills as a Programs Coordinator? See below for more details about my job description.
I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Child and Family Studies so I am very familiar with non-profit organizations and resources for clients. However, coordinating programs and events as well as managing volunteers will be new to me! This is an entry-level position so I will have help from my supervisors. However, I would like to be independent as I can be so I can make their job easier! I would like to get my hands on some resource books that will aid me in my new position so that I can give my best to this organization!
Please only serious answers! Thank you for any help!
You can go to the Association of Fundraising Professionals’ website (www.afpnet.org) and look for webinars and books on the topics of volunteer coordination and event planning.
Also, check out the Chronicle of Philanthropy (http://philanthropy.com/) which is one of the leading publications read by non-profit professionals.
It sounds like you’ve got a great job!
Hope this helps. Good luck!

Here’s the solution to your problem:
Copy this text into notepad (starting with Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00) and save it to your desktop using the name “missing.reg”: (save as all files type not TXT)
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

(copy and paste, dont try and type this)
After saving the file, go to START > RUN > and type ‘regedit’ and then click OK
In the registry, select FILE > IMPORT and select the “missing.reg” file from your desktop
You should get a confirmation that it was imported successfully.
This is an instant fix … your speakers should now work for web sounds, no reboot required.
James
Hi, type run into the search bar when you hit start menu,.(its the first bar above the start menu after tou press it)
Just type it and wait for the programmes to show then select it.
Hi, I has to be done in NOTEPAD, same again, START>SEARCH BAR>type NOTEPAD and it should come up in the list of programmes!
P.s save file location to the desktop so its easy to find again. (you can change the file location to desktop on the left pane of the save menu) I think,..I`m using window 7 and thats the way it is on it but from what i can remember vista is the same.
Did you save the file as ALL FIles or TXT?
Hmmm,. Make sure that all the string is copied, (STARTING AT: Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
and Ending at “aux3″=”wdmaud.drv”
missing one dot etc would stop it working. Try it from scratch over again.,,failing this I don`t know what else, sorry

library volunteer applications

Do I have a chance of getting into UCLA, UC Irvine, UC Davis and UC San Diego?
College applications are approaching, and I’m thinking if I should even apply to colleges I don’t have a chance of getting into. I come from a high school that’s quite competitive, and it’s pretty hard to get into honors/ap classes. My sat score is relatively low. Do colleges specifically look at your weighted or unweighted gpa?
weighted: 3.85
unweighted: 3.65
sat I: 1720
3 community college courses
extra-curricular – golf, peer leader, homeroom officer, CSF (California scholarship federation) officer, student govt and 4 other clubs, after school tutor
Volunteer jobs: library, hospital & day cares
Had an internship over the summer
Thanks.
The UC system compars both your unqeighted and your weighted GPA’s, though they place the emphasis on your weighted GPA. You should take the SAT again, in hopes that you can improve by a hundred points or so. You have great EC’s, and you have demonstrated that you are a hard worker. A lot of volunteering, which you have, helps tremendously. You should be a shoe-in for Irvine, Davis, and San Diego, but UCLA is a stretch. If I were you, I would apply to all those schools, because you should get in to at least three of the schools in which you are applying to. I can guarantee you this much: you will be getting into any UC you apply to, with the exception of Berkeley and UCLA, even though you still have a chance.

What did you do on your 21st Birthday?
If your not 21 yet, what would you like to do on your 21st birthday?
With me I got drunk and took a final exam in Science. Got a B in the class and had to hang out at the library all night so I was sober enough to drive. Thank god the library was open for 24 hours. LOL
the question should be, WHO did I do on my 21st birthday.
ah, just kidding. i didnt get lucky. i think i just went out to dinner with some friends. nothing crazy. ive done plenty of drinking from ages 17-20. 21 was not a big deal for me.
