Where should my husband and I move?
We both will be graduating next August from grad school in engineering and counseling. We’re in our mid 20′s and don’t plan to have kids for a few years.
We like:
Being outdoors, hiking, camping, wildlife
We like all 4 seasons, but could do without snow. We don’t hate it, but wouldn’t mind warmer weather
We like being in or near a city – not in the middle of nowhere.
We want to avoid high-crime rates and mega-cities, like NYC
We like to try new things and go places like museums, parks, movies, restaurants, etc.
We’d like to be somewhere with some diversity
Right now my husband has California high on his list, the only downsides are that our family is on the east coast/midwest and the price of living is 2x more
Any ideas and explanations would be great! We don’t even know where to start to look
I live in Houston but Austin, TX is one of my favorite cities in the U.S. I lived there for only a few short months back in ’03 and fell in love with the small city atmosphere. It might be small on paper but it has LOTS of stuff to do. You can do anything from jogging in Zilker Park, swimming at Barton Springs, canoeing the Colorado River, or spend a night out on the town in downtown Austin (6th street is pretty popular). The city is filled with a diverse yet down-to-earth crowd and I think anyone who has California on their mind will be impressed with Austin, TX and all it has to offer. Check it out. Maybe you will fall in love with the city too.

Is it true that NYC lacks natural blondes?
My colleagues at work have just returned from NYC. Most of their stay was in Manhattan; were they went to exhibit Ancient Egyptian, Coptic Christian and Islamic masterpieces in the Metropolitan Museum of Art. They also went to Brooklyn. Knowing that I’m greatly attravted to blondes, they’ve told me that the percentage of blondes in Manhattan and Brooklyn was very very low.
They visited Washington, DC and the Smithsonian Institution there and they also stayed in the Northern and Western suburbs of the nation’s capital. They’ve stated that blondes there were very abundant and were physically athletic (in short, they’re very beautiful).
My question is: When someone tours NYC for two months and notices that blondes are very rare there, is this reliable evidence that the percentage of NATURAL blondes in NYC has become minimal?
Such funny answers. There are lost ofd blonds; of course wont let you take the test to see if they are natrural.
…and Yorkville being German? That may have been true more than 50 years ago.
