museum label example

Please give me a critique of the Long Beach Museum of Art. I want to go but don’t know if it’s worth going to.
for example: were the labels easy to read? were the labels written in an easy to understand format? were the labels and artworks sufficiently lighted? was the staff helpful? etc., etc.
thanks
It was great. You should go there and see for yourself.

museum exhibit designer

Please relay your best non-art museum experience…it can be from child or adulthood. Why was it memorable?
Please be as specific as possible. I am an exhibit designer and find these “Stories” helpful when designing new spaces.
When I was in fourth grade our music teacher picked a select few from the fourth and fifth graders to go to the museum at the college in the next town over to sing Christmas carols for the people visiting the museum. I always thought I had a terrible singing voice which saddened me as a relative of mine was an actress who got the leading role in a major film based on the true life story of a country music artist. My relative sang all the vocals of the songs in the movie herself. So,I always thought my voice was wretched in comparison but was chosen in the select few to go perform. Little miss popular who just knew she had the best voice was left behind. I’ll never forget the fit she threw.
The performance was video recorded so I got to see myself be on film, which back then was still a big deal even if it was a home movie. So I thought I was the queen of the world, hahaha.
After our performance we got to visit the exibits and it was then that I found out my secret crush liked me back.
Wow what fun memories! Thanks for this question…
All museums should have a place where live exibits such as singing peroformances, or different performances can be held.Afterall performances are part of history and date back long before Shakespeare…
