conservation kids club
Are 5 AP courses and some extracurriculars enough for getting in to a highly selective college?

AP Chemistry, AP Calculus, AP English, AP American History, AP European History, 3 years Red Cross Club, 4 years soccer, and 2 summers doing conservation work in the forests of new england to be exact. I know that everything is pretty standard for students who want to get into good colleges, but i think that not many kids spend summers doing conservation work so hopefully that is a unique thing? Also, my lowest grade in the classes I mentioned was a B+ so that might be a factor…
and I am a member of the National Honor society

It’s really hard to say- I personally took ten AP classes in high school, had a good GPA, and participated in a good number of extracurricular activities. I got into some of the more selective schools I applied to, but not all of them. There is a certain degree of randomness in college applications; it really depends on who you are applying against, what schools you are looking at, and what field you are looking to go into.
My best advice would be that if you think your conservation work was really unique, maybe try to focus on that in an essay or something? Good luck with applications!

Our efforts to build a sustainable world cannot succeed unless future generations learn how to partner with natural systems to our mutual benefit. It aim…
