library kids page

NY Times article (front page) stated that in Maplewood NJ libraries to shut out unruly kids: whose kids ?
Whose kids are these? The library will shut down between 2 and five pm daily so these kids won’t have afterschool access. This is a middle class neighborhood. Librarians can’t handle the behaviou of the kids.
Where have you been hiding for the last 30 years?
In the 1970′s divorce rates soared, dual incomes became vogue, and the term ” compete with the Jones” took on a much more sinister meaning.
Parents both work- no one is home to watch the children. Parents feel guilty about not being around and indulge their children, or are simply too tired and stressed to do so. The cost of living has skyrocketed, allowing for less family time. Daycare costs are so high even dual income families can not afford to pay for afterschool care. It is no longer safe to allow your children to play outside unsupervised.
Parents unfairly assume that the Library is a safe place for unsupervised children. Or I have witnessed parents just letting the children run- manners and parental responsiblity have simply disappeared.
Public resources are being abused.
I am glad someone somewhere is calling BS on the current trends of parenting.
IF the librarians are sick of todays bratty children and lazy parents can you imagine how things have changed in a public classroom since 1970?

Millions of Brits are in the pool of debt through one way or other. It is getting rather acceptable in credit-obsessed society. The policy of buy now and pay later has become more and more in fashion than ever before. This attitude of spending can quickly escalate your budget out of control and more than eight million Brits have unsecured debts. Out of this, no other than looking for Debt Consolidation Services are better options of debt elimination. You can obtain these eradication plans through online and offline, though these days online processing is preferred.
The main purpose of debt consolidation is to help you avoid filing for bankruptcy to stop the constant phone calls and letters from creditors looking to call in their loans, to lower your debt repayments by up to 60 per cent and to provide you with one low monthly payment that goes towards all your accumulated unsecured debts.
The prime appeal of consolidation loans is convenience. Instead of paying many different creditors who are charging different rates at different times of the month, you take out one big loan and pay off all those liabilities. Then you make a single payment on that loan once a month.
When it comes to getting help with debt consolidation services, the facts are pretty simple. Individuals who find themselves unable to meet their monthly payments for any number of debts can choose to enter some form of debt consolidation program run by either a private or non-profit organisation in order to work towards debt elimination.
By entering a debt reduction plan with a certified commercial institution or non-profit debt relief group, every month the consolidation services bring you nearer to a debt free and financially secure your bright financial future. And mind you, it took you at the same time as to get into debt so expect for it to take some time for you to work your way back out of it.
