museum studies degree programs

Is teaching K-12 social studies a waste of a history degree?
I recently graduated with a B.A. in history, and planned on getting my M.A. in history or museum studies. My wife is a 4th grade teacher and told me about the M.Ed. and certification programs to teach social studies. I am about 5 classes into the program but have grown disenchanted. Come to find out, social studies majors only have 4 or 5 history courses. I feel I am wasting my degree and am frustrated because I feel overqualified yet have to pay for a years worth of classes just for certification to teach kids. Is it worth it to have summers off and job security, or is teaching overrated?
Teaching is only a waste of your degree if you’re not happy doing it. If you think it would make you happy, and you could get some sort of fulfillment out of passing on the knowledge to your students, then it doesn’t matter what your past was. It’s usually a misstep to try to think of the things you “should” be doing because you associate a particular past with a job. Instead, you should maybe think about why you studied history in the first place, and then think about if teaching would let you enjoy history the way you’d originally wanted to. If you’d be miserable teaching, then it would be a waste of time, both for you and the students, and a waste of life, but certainly not a waste of your degree.

museum studies certificate programs

It may not be today, this year or ten years from now but it is more likely than you would think that you may need one. Have you ever wanted a Hebrew tattoo? What about understanding the first testament on a deeper level? The more you think about it, there are several reasons you will be thankful that http://www.multiling.com/hebrew_translation.htm are available today.
More Reasons When You Might Need a Hebrew Translator
• Going to Israel
• Writing a kosher cookbook
• Religious translation
• Educational needs
• Museum interpreters
• Getting or giving a Hebrew tattoo
Requirements of a Hebrew Translator
Obviously, not everyone is qualified to be a Hebrew translator. Several years of higher education in language and history are required to know the language inside and out. A Hebrew translator must either be born and raised speaking Hebrew or have studied the language intensively.
Most Hebrew Translator Jobs require
• 5 years professional experience
• College degree
• Affiliation with proofreader
• Certification, accreditation, diploma or other translation training
• 3 client recommendations
• Pass USTC translator test
Instead of taking a risk by hiring someone out of the phone book whom you may not know at all, think about investing in a professional translation company.
How a Professional Software Localization and Translation Company Can Help You
• A professional translation company will ensure that you are getting what you pay for, not just a heavy price for another person using the same translation software you could have bought at the computer store.
• They hire translators who live in the country you are translating into.
• They hire translators who are also trained in software localization, ensuring precise translation, so they know the language, laws and ethics as well as software programs and codes.
• The benefit is that all of these services are in one company. Translation, localization and software localization all in one package, saving you time and money and hassles.

library media specialist

Librarianship Inspiration?
23, BA in journalism, planning to start grad school in the fall to earn my masters degree in library science, with school library media specialist certification. I need to write a statement (250-500 words) describing why I’m interested in the intended program of study and career expectations from the professional degree.
I’m interested in the school media aspect; being able to teach students how to properly use the various media available to them to further and aide their education and learning environment. Selfishly, I’m also interested in summers, holidays, weekends and evenings off, getting a pension and having a quite environment to work in. I’m looking for advice from other teacher-librarians or people in the profession to inspire what I’ll write in my grad school admission statement. Can anyone help me out? Thanks!
I am a library media specialist with an MLS. I would leave out the selfish part. It doesn’t make you look good. Talk more about why you want to teach students. What will you like about teaching? What will you like about working as a specialist, collaborator, and a curriculum integrationist? Discuss the different aspects of the library media career – reading promotion, technology, and information literacy. Also, you may want to check your state’s requirements for certification. My state will not certify you until you have had two years of teaching experience in a regular classroom.
